Interns and fellowships

We welcome applications for interns and fellows throughout the year. The variety of work that LCD handles provides a wealth of experience for those that choose to join us. We offer the opportunity to work with a significantly disadvantaged section of the community and our intern and fellows gain great satisfaction from helping change a person’s living conditions, health outcomes or financial situation.

You can read more about how to apply in the sections below and gain an insight in to the experience here.

Fellowships

To apply for a fellowship with LCD you must be dedicated to public interest law and have experience of, or a strong interest in, dealing with low-income individuals.

We sponsor law students and lawyers for fellowships funded by the Independence Foundationthe Skadden Fellowship Foundation, and Equal Justice Works.

As a fellow you’ll work directly with our experienced staff attorneys.  As a fellow you’ll carry your own caseload whilst gaining in depth experience across the many areas of law that we handle.

Fellows carry their own caseload and gain valuable experience in providing a wide range of services, from brief advice and counsel to representation at administrative hearings, judicial proceedings, and appeals.  Fellows can also involved in any policy and advocacy work.  Past fellows have provided crucial advocacy for our clients, contributed greatly to our development, and many have become long-term members of our staff.
