Alexandra Leone-Gregory
Independence Foundation Fellow
(she/her)
Alex Leone-Gregory joined LCD as an Independence Foundation Fellow in fall 2025. Her project focuses on expanding the medical-legal partnership model at St Christopher and Nemours children’s hospitals to include special education legal assistance. Primarily, the goal is to assist children eligible for special education and their families in requesting services through the identification and evaluation processes under the federal IDEA. Alex became interested in the intersection of education and disability law after teaching in the South Bronx at a charter school after college. She earned her B.A. From Yale in 2018, her M.A. from Teachers College Columbia University in 2022, and her J.D. from Temple University Beasley School of Law in 2025. As a Rubin-Presser Social Justice Fellow at Temple, she dedicated her time to pro bono projects such as the School Discipline Advocacy Service, Housing Justice Initiative, and the Social Justice Lawyering clinic. She is excited to continue serving the Philadelphia community as a fellow.
Fun fact: Alex loves to explore different styles of dance! She competed internationally as an Irish dancer growing up and was a member of afrobeats and hula dancing teams in college.
